“The people here talk too much,” she said in her own mind. Giving glances at the ones who she could see and thinking about the ones she doesn’t. She sat quietly in the back of the class wondering what people would really think if they said their thoughts aloud. She thought of how everything would burst into chaos. She imagined papers being thrown across the room, and kids crying because of the things that were said. How one thing can change the faces of millions of people, still people had acknowledged but forgotten how dangerous it can be, yet we still use this weapon to hurt people every day. Then she remembers that people who have power do these exact things. Those people in power can really move a nation, cause wars, bring suffering.
But there are the kind ones who can help change a nation for the better. The ones who fight for the good things like world peace, equality, world hunger. She thinks of all the amazing things she could do with one movement of her lips. One sound that will ring and echo in history like those before her. She sees how only one word can change the world. It all depends on which one we use.
