Simple Times

It’s a hot summer day, and my cousins are over. We’re all desperately searching for batteries for the controllers. Finally, at last, ready to play some Black Ops 2. I go to turn on the Xbox by pressing the circular button, lighting up a bright green in four sections. We all turn on our controllers on, arguing who’s going to be first player. Of course, Sal gets it – even though he’s not the best. He then clicks on Blacks Ops 2 and loads the game up. I can still remember the loading clips, the sound of helicopters, and campaign tactics. The main OG screen comes up with a mainly lit black screen, with a character holding a gun in his right hand, a knife in his left. Sal presses start. We argued whether to play multiple or zombies, but of course, we chose zombies. Zombies Black Ops 2 was our go to, but Sal always insisted on playing multiple, but majority rules. We then move to the classic zombie’s screen with the post-apocalyptic world that’s a dark grey filled with lava spots all over earth. Then of course, there’s the classic music that plays while you’re on the main menu of zombies.
Are we going to play Town, TranZit, Farm, Origins, Buried, etc.. We never argued over the map, we just took turns playing different maps. However, one thing we did argue about, was points. If I had more points at the beginning in Town, I’d have to but the bar door, or the upstairs door. I would become furious because I was saving up to get juggernaut, these rookies simply didn’t understand my tactics. Yet, we still managed to work as a team to keep the last crawler alive so we can get some extra points before the next round. It would be difficult sometimes because the crawler would eventually bleed out. And, during this time either Izak or me were Pack A Punching or rebuilding barriers. We’d also take turns buying the mystery box and Pack A Punching, it wasn’t safe to do this alone. We worked well together, especially on TranZit. We’d make sure to tell one another if the bus driver was leaving to the next station. TranZit was not a fan favorite map, there were too many stops and so many glitches. For example, when one of would get down in a different part of the city, it wasn’t likely we would be revived. Or if we did go through the depths of the sea to revive one another, we’d get down ourselves. Also, we would make sure to remind one another reload their guns before getting Max Ammo. Izak would yell at us to hurry because the Max Ammo perk was flashing away, and we were still reloading. It was also funny when either one of us got the teddy bear because, we would all get mad one another for being so dumb and using the mystery box. Our main objective was to survive as long as we could, but this all changed when we learned what the easter eggs were on some of the maps.
Our favorite was Origins, the classic game filled with robots, staffs, and different realms. Together we watched multiple YouTube videos on how to build the ice staff, get in the robot’s food, and fill up the generators and so on. This map took us forever to complete the easter egg, but we never stopped trying. Working together we finally beat the Origins easter egg, it was the happiest day of our lives. We finally did it. It was all worth it for that extra cut scene. Cut scenes was a way to inform Black Ops Zombies players of the full story plot. The scene starts with a bright white screen and the little girl who is narrating. The scene then cuts to the girls’ bright blue young eyes. She was then playing with toy figures of the zombies in the game. The boy then said, “I told you they’re eyes are supposed to be blue.” She then sets down the toy figure and the screen is focused on her and her brother playing. The little girls’ brother than nags her on how girls don’t know how to play. The suddenly they hear the apocalyptic siren and they look towards the window. Her dad then comes over an intercom and tells her to come downstairs and lock the windows before they go to the basement. Then the little girl tells Eddie that they’ll all figure it out, as they wished the heroes in their playing were real. Then Samantha says her father has a plan to fix everything. The final scene then shifts to the two leaving the room and to the bottom of the bed carved in who has won more with ticks. This cut scene then left us wondering what was possibly next, what did this scene mean exactly. Finally, in a joyous state we would then just mess around, using the different types of staffs, and surviving till we couldn’t any longer.

I aspire to be successful and I work hard in order to achieve my goals. I hope to become a business owner of the sorts, or possibly attend USAFA. I do my best to learn from my mistakes and continue to give 100% to my work.
