Mysteries of a Child
by Robert Anderson
Childhood is a mysterious time and has its fantastical events that one may remember. A lot of times these seemingly unforgettable moments are forgotten, but the feeling may come back to one. A young child’s brain is much more open because it hasn’t reached a capacity for anything. Children are like empty vessels that can be filled with anything (which is why good parenting is very important). The experience young children have is like none other. It’s something very hard to describe because it almost seems mystical in some ways. As a kid with an open mind it is possible to perceive reality in any way the child wants. Children are more open to the fact that reality is malleable and can be changed with a small change of mind. The first experiences happen to someone when they are a child. They are just born, and everything is new to them. The first time a child tries ice cream, smells flowers, or swims is a new and exciting experience. Children learn so fast compared to any adults because they are much more open minded and are still new to learning and life itself. The heat of the sun and the chill of the night is very new and meaningful to a child. Everything is very meaningful to a child because it all relatively new. Children live their lives with passion, zeal, and wonder which is what makes these mysterious experiences that have so much meaning. Anybody can have these experiences, but it takes effort as an adult to whereas a child it comes naturally. Childhood is truly mysterious, but only compared to the life an adult is living. If someone were to ask a child how it feels to have the awesome mysterious life that they get to experience everyday the child would probably not feel the same way because they don’t have anything to compare their lifestyle to. The child would be used to the way it lived and felt everyday when it woke up and be completely unaware of the future they would endure. This is surprisingly a very good way to live. If the child could understand how they would feel as they got older, they would be much more appreciative of their current lifestyle. However, it is very important that they don’t because part of a child is their innocence and their ability to live, learn, and understand in the moment. Childhood is a very precious thing and that is something everyone should be able to recognize unless their sociopathic or some shit. It is beyond upsetting to see someone mistreating a child. Every person was a child at some point, and it is sad that some people lost the understanding of what it was like and why they should treat their child with love. This also another reason why teacher salary should be significantly raised. Teachers are changing and guiding children for the better for an annual salary of $36,000, while there are people in the NBA that sit on the bench and make at least a million for 1 season. Not to diss the NBA or anything. Its just upsetting that the society we live in today doesn’t recognize the difference in values. Children are like empty vessels that can be filled with love or hate.
Robert Anderson loves dogs and cats the exact same. He also loves children.
