I wake and I groan, I walk and I moan. I drag myself to my destination, without my body’s permission. In the midst of darkness in the kitchen, I’m basked in the light of the refrigerator. I search and find; I grab my breakfast and feel my jaw grind. I set myself up, ready to devour, but then I ask myself, “What’s the hour?”, I check the clock, throw everything out of my table and go back to sleep. I thrust myself into bed, paying no matter my uniform, then close my eyes, and proceed to count sheep once again.
Gerardo Nieblas is a high school sophmore at New Mexico Military Institute. Though not the best at being creative, and writing isn't his strongsuit, he'll try his hardest to be and do those things. And even though he only attended NMMI for one year, he won't forget such a special Institute.
