Family Tradition

The problem began about a week ago, Gabriel got a promotion and decided to have a party but coincidentally, as he does not remember his brother’s birthdays, he set the party on Eric’s birthday and already told his colleagues the date. This led to a problem and to solve it both Eric and Gabriel set a date to meet and solve it. On the date, they rush and leave their own houses to reach their brother’s house, Charles, nearly at the same time, Hunter is sleeping after a long night of watching TV shows with his brother, Charles. Meanwhile Charles is preparing to make himself a breakfast. After a long hour has passed, Charles hears his doorbell ringing, which wakes up Hunter a tiny bit.
“Who is it?” asked Charles with tiredness.
“It’s your brothers here.” Replied Gabriel and Eric in unison.
“and we both need to borrow great grandma’s secret recipe!” Exclaimed Eric.
“Who is going to be using the recipe?” questioned Charles, “because there is only one and we were told not to copy it to keep it a secret.”
“I would love it if I could use the recipe for my promotional party.” Replied Gabriel.
“And I would like to use it for my birthday party!” argued Eric.
“This problem has been going on since we last talked a week ago.” Said Gabriel.
During this time Hunter is stretching and preparing to leave his room to get breakfast for his empty stomach. Hunter decided that he was going to make a simple breakfast meal, some cereal, and go back to sleep. After getting out of bed, he looks for the items needed, but he could not find anything other than the bowl and utensil. Hunter asks in a raspy voice,
“Where is the milk, Charles?”
“It is in the bottom layer of the fridge, behind the orange juice” replied Charles.
“What are you going to eat for brunch,” asked Eric, “Because I do not see anything in your bowl.”
“I am going to eat cereal, but I need the milk first.” Responded Hunter.
“What?! Who puts milk before the cereal?” Questioned Gabriel in a dramatic voice.
“I do. I have done it all the time since I was 8.” Replied Hunter.
“Okay, that is not normal at all,” Stated Eric with a small chuckle, “Ignoring that how about we get Elijah’s opinion on who gets the recipe.”
Charles calls Elijah with his phone and learns that Elijah is on a trip to Europe.
“We need your opinion on a difficult subject, Elijah” Said Charles.
“I am on a trip right now, but I’ll try to help the most that I can” Replied Elijah.
Charles Asks, “hypothetically, what if there are two parties on the same date and they both need a recipe but only one exists.”
“Okay, is this about two of you and great grandma’s recipe?” Asked Elijah.
“Yeah, both Eric and Gabriel need the recipe.” Answered Charles.
“To respect great grandma’s death, we should keep the recipe a secret and just combine both parties.” Declared Elijah.
“Thank you, Elijah” said Charles as he hangs up.
“Well, I think we learned one thing about Hunter for sure,” Said Gabriel, “and that problems could be solved better if we actually took some thought.”
Given some time later in the future on the day of the parties.
“I don’t think that we thought this one through guys.” Said Eric.
“I agree because having my colleagues with your crazy friends is going to ruin me.” Replied Gabriel.
“What crazy friends, you probably don’t even have friends just colleagues.” Replied Eric.
Sarcastically Hunter said, “Everything is going to be completely fine because obviously Eric does not have lunatic friends.”
“Shut up Hunter, you eat cereal wrong. I don’t think that you have the right to call them lunatics.” Replied Eric.
“I mean your friends are about to ruin the place.” Said Hunter as more people arrived.
“Who are they?” Asked Gabriel in a wary tone.
“I don’t know, but they were not invited,” Replied Eric.
“Go tell them to leave or they might ruin the party and make me look bad.” Said Gabriel.
“No thanks, I do not like talking to others even less to people that I do not know.” Whispered Eric.
“Fine, I’ll go tell Charles he has no shame in doing anything unlike the rest of us.” Said Gabriel.
About an hour later after there was a total of a whopping 150 people, mainly strangers, in a single house. The brothers decided to shut down the party.
“I am sorry for the inconvenience, but the party will have to be shut down as some people came without being invited!” Shouted Charles throughout the house.
“Guys look even after everybody left, none of the cookies were touched. They just wanted to party and drink about everything else that we had,” Said Hunter, “And that just means more cookies for me.”
“Someone tell Elijah that this went horrible,” Said Gabriel, “After this I may lose the promotion.”
“Whoever calls Elijah, add that next time we will just copy the recipe.” Added Eric.
“Personally, I don’t care I just wanted food” Said Hunter.
“Guess, I will be the one telling Elijah as always,” Said Charles, “Just like a repeat of mine and Hunter’s party.”
“Who is it?” asked Charles with tiredness.
“It’s your brothers here.” Replied Gabriel and Eric in unison.

Going to NMMI is a great experience. I made many friends and fought through multiple challenges, but I know that I have gained one thing for sure and that is a tan line from the mask.
