We are the generation in flames. Lazy for using the technology readily available while shunned for not using the resources we have. Our world is burning and its our fault, we hope for a better future. No say, no work, but our problem. We are the dragon fodder, doomed to burn, or doomed to scrounge in the barren earth. It is our fault. We try to speak the truth, give hope to a hopeless situation, but we are brainwashed by social media. Completely connected, but we are alone. Confused and lost, we did what we were supposed to do. We hope for a better future. Studied, acquired our degrees; now what? Promises that we were foolish to believe, but that’s our fault. False truths, lies, hoodwinked but that’s our fault? How can a people with no say or influence be responsible for the world’s problems? Do we kill the private for the general’s war crimes? Do we blame the new employee for the CEO’s embezzlement of company resources? A seizing of the world’s resources, hoarding and scraping for more, no resources. Trying to yell through the lies constantly surrounding us. Two sides of a coin. Are we in the most beautiful time or the worst of times? We hope for a better future. Will we strive for greatness or scrounge for survival? We hope for a better future. We will be consumed. We are the generation in flames. What will rise from the ashes?
